a network of home growers

As a charity, we’re committed to teaching people food-growing skills. We love people to come to our garden spaces to learn but we’re also passionate about supporting people to grow their own fruit and veg.

Our network of Grounded Growers grow fruit and veg in their gardens, on their balconies, in allotments, on window sills – we’ve even got people growing in care homes and hotel gardens.

There are SO many benefits to growing your own food:

  1. We can grow food for our household, which saves money
  2. We empower ourselves to eat well, and know where our food is coming from
  3. We can connect with others who are growing, swap seeds and food, and learn more together
  4. It gets us active and outside in the fresh air
  5. There’s a notable difference in taste, and you won’t believe how healthy and good it feels – especially if you adopt our chemical free, highly mineral based growing techniques
  6. You will be contributing to a more sustainable community

Signing up to our network of home growers is free and easy – just send us an email and we’ll tell you more. You’ll also find more information below about how it all works.

A connected community

Our aim is to build a self-sufficient community, not just self-sufficient individuals or households.

We arrange sessions to swap food – so you grow carrots, someone else grows tomatoes, and you can swap with one another. We also receive donations of food from people who have fruit trees or surplus food through our Grounded Gatherers project, which we distribute to those in need in our community.

Becoming a Grounded Grower means you will get support and advice on how to grow your own until you are confident to do it yourself, but even then you can connect with our network, attend shared meals, volunteer to learn greater skills and support the broader projects we are running in the community.

Additional support

Whilst this is a free service to the community, there are options to buy services such as garden maintenance and raised bed building from our trusted contractors.

There’s also the option for those who can afford to make donations or set up a monthly donation to our work. This means that others who cant afford it benefit even more.
